Certification of Homes
The Triad Green Building Council is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Green Program. One key element of this national program is NAHB Green, a green home certification program, which is administered by the NAHB Research Center. All homes certified as part of National Green Building Certification will be measured against the best existing definition of green and sustainable home construction.
National Green Building Certification assures homeowners and the community that your projects meet the requirements of the National Green Building Standard, and truly are green. NAHB Green includes rating systems that are cost effective, flexible and designed for builders and remodelers. NAHB Green scores:
- ENERGY EFFICIENCY
- WATER EFFICIENCY
- RESOURCE EFFICENCY
- LOT AND SITE DEVELOPMENT
- INDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY
- HOME OWNER EDUCATION
The interest in green construction is rapidly growing. The exploding national market for sustainable, environmentally friendly and recycled building products, along with increasing consumer demand has accelerated green building's acceptance rate.
As green building grows in popularity, so does the scrutiny of green home certifications. Make sure your project has the credibility of an accredited, third-party verification.
